About

A physician who studies the system

Community medicine sits at the meeting point of clinical care and population health — and that is where most of my work lives.

I trained in medicine at the Kalinga Institute of Medical Sciences, KIIT University, Bhubaneswar, completing my MBBS in 2020 with a one-year rotating internship at Pradyuman Bal Memorial Hospital.

My postgraduate training took me to the Centre for Community Medicine at AIIMS New Delhi, where I completed my MD in Community Medicine between 2021 and 2024 — and ranked first in my batch. My thesis examined patient engagement in disease management and its association with outcomes among adults with hypertension and diabetes in rural Haryana, work that shaped much of what has followed.

Since May 2025 I have been a Senior Resident in the Department of Community and Family Medicine at AIIMS Bathinda. The role weaves together teaching, research and service: undergraduate and postgraduate teaching, public health and community-based research, primary healthcare delivery, and quality improvement for non-communicable diseases. A short project-based consultancy with the WHO South-East Asia Journal of Public Health in April 2025 added editorial and peer-review experience to the mix.

Outside of research, I write. My poetry collection, The One Who Has Risen, was published in 2019 and showcased at the New Delhi World Book Fair in 2023. Writing and communication are not separate from my medical work so much as another way of paying attention to people.
