Public Health & Community
Where research meets the ground
Public health questions only make sense against the reality of primary healthcare. Much of my current role is spent exactly there — in camps, clinics and village squares.

In practice
Camps, clinics, village squares
The community work coordinated and delivered as part of my current Senior Residency at AIIMS Bathinda — clinical services, education and prevention, taken out of the hospital and into the districts.

Community health camps & outreach
Coordinating and participating in health camps across six districts of Haryana and Punjab as part of the current Senior Residency at AIIMS Bathinda, providing clinical services to approximately 1,800 people.
Health education & awareness
Health talks and street plays (nukkad natakas) on priority health issues, alongside community-based health promotion to improve health literacy and encourage preventive practices.
Hands-Only CPR training
Promoting Hands-Only CPR awareness by training village residents in basic bystander resuscitation.
Primary healthcare & community-based activities
Working with frontline services and communities on everyday primary care delivery.
Quality improvement initiatives
Applying structured QI methods — PDSA cycles, run charts — to strengthen screening, documentation and service delivery.
Screening, referrals & service delivery
Opportunistic NCD screening with standardised forms, digital data capture and improved referral pathways into the health system.
Fieldwork
